The Workplace of the Future is a relatively new concept in the public sector today, and one that is changing rapidly. From the boardroom to huddle rooms, a variety of solutions are being used to increase collaboration and create an environment that is tailored for the workplace of the future. As millennials continue to enter the workforce, agencies have realized they need to change the workplace to meet the needs of this modern demographic.
We had a chance to sit down with Sean Berg, VP Public Sector at Polycom, for a streaming interview to talk more about this as well as other trends he is seeing in the industry. During our conversation, Sean notes the importance of flexibility and work-life balance that millennials value more than generations prior to them. Millennials want collaborative solutions that can be used anywhere – from the board room to the cafeteria.
Employees also want to be able to collaborate naturally with all-in-one solutions. Lastly, Sean says, that user experience is incredibly important and something that Polycom is investing in greatly. Users want to be able to use tools that are intuitive and require little training. In our interview, Sean touches on other trends he has seen over the past year and what’s in store for the future of unified communications.
